Photo and video preview in Smart Rooms

Previews help recipients confirm a photo or video before downloading, while preview controls let uploaders disable that experience when needed.

Why media preview is useful

Photo and video preview makes a Smart Room feel like a delivery page, not only a download button. It is useful for client proofs, screenshots, photos, design reviews, short clips and visual projects.

Supported formats

Image preview supports common formats such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF and BMP. Video preview supports common browser-friendly formats such as MP4, WebM, MOV, M4V and OGV. MKV is treated as best effort because browser support depends on the codec inside the file.

When to disable preview

Disable photo/video preview when you want recipients to download the file but not view it directly in the Smart Room. This is useful for private media, files that should be reviewed offline, or cases where you want to reduce casual viewing.

Important privacy note

If a recipient is allowed to view or download a file, no website can fully prevent screenshots, screen recording or saving content through the browser. Preview controls reduce exposure inside the Smart Room, but they are not a replacement for sending content only to trusted recipients.
